Purlear Water Damage and Mold Cause Tear Out

This Purlear bathroom needed a significant amount of controlled demolition after SERVPRO technicians found both water damage and the need for mold remediation. Visible mold colonies spread across the walls around the shower and toilet due to a leak within the wall. Using their moisture detection devices, the techs found no indication of seepage under the tile flooring. The sheetrock between to the shower and toilet and the wall behind the fixture needed removal as the sheetrock wicked water and the mold infestation spread across it. After removal of the damaged building materials, the techs set up drying equipment to ensure that the water embedded in the framework and wall cavity dried. Afterward, the exposed framework got treated with the professional antimicrobial cleaning agents that inhibit any further establishment of the mold.
